Research shows that the Omega-3s called EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) contribute to your cardiovascular health in many ways. Both EPA and DHA help to combat plaque and they help to prevent blood clots from developing in your arteries. These arterial plaque deposits and blood clots can block blood flow in your arteries, leading to strokes, heart attacks and other cardiovascular conditions.

The American Heart Association recognizes EPA and DHA as being effective for:

Risk reduction of strokes and heart attacks

Healthy arteries and lowering of blood pressure

Prevention of heart beat abnormalities and arrhythmia

Reduction in Sudden Cardiac Death

Blood triglyceride reduction

Prevention of plaque and hardening of the arteries

Prevention of plaque fat rupture

Good overall heart health

Risk Reduction of Strokes and Heart Attacks

Studies indicate that EPA and DHA can help to reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks by preventing or slowing down the build up of plaque fat deposits in your arteries. Prevention of these plaque fat deposits will help to keep your blood flowing normally and it may reduce your risk of developing clots in your arteries. There is evidence that EPA and DHA can help to stabilize the un-stable or dangerous plaques which may form. Also, those who consume higher levels of EPA and DHA tend to have less severe heart attacks and much better survival rates and importantly have a much lower risk of sudden death should they have a heart attack.

Healthy Arteries and Lowering of Blood Pressure

Research indicates that EPA and DHA can help to make blood more free-flowing, deterring a condition known as thrombosis much in the same way as aspirin prevents heart attacks. EPA and DHA also keep your blood vessels relaxed in a process called vasodilation, which lowers blood pressure. EPA and DHA help to lower the viscosity of the blood, which reduces the clumping potential of blood platelets, making it easier for the heart to pump the blood throughout your body. This benefit is vital to those of you who have existing heart conditions or partially clogged arteries by helping to reduce the risk of thrombotic strokes (strokes due to blood clots). Approximately 85% of all strokes are thrombotic and research suggests that Omega-3s can help to play an essential role in stroke prevention. Studies show that lowering blood viscosity, blood vessel dilation, lowering of blood pressure, and prevention of blood clots (clumping) are all benefits of EPA and DHA, which help to reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks.

Risk Reduction of Heartbeat Abnormalities

By deterring plaque fat buildup in your arteries, and by improving overall cardiac functioning, research suggests that EPA and DHA can help to reduce the risk of heartbeat abnormalities by making it easier for your heart to pump your blood in a regular and efficient manner. Studies indicate that EPA and DHA have been tied to the prevention of heartbeat abnormalities such as:

Arrhythmia

Ventricular tachycardia

Fibrillation

Triglyceride Lowering

Elevated triglyceride is a commonly found risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Research indicates that EPA and DHA can help to reduce the amount of triglycerides in your bloodstream. This occurs by reducing fat (triglyceride) synthesis in the liver and by enhancing triglyceride clearance from the circulation.

Risk Reduction of Plaque Buildup
and Hardening of the Arteries

Studies show that EPA and DHA help to prevent plaque from depositing on the walls of your arteries by keeping your arteries from hardening (atherosclerosis). Also, the risk of blood platelets adhering to the vessel surface to initiate a thrombus (plug) is reduced when EPA and DHA are consumed. Clean arteries equate to good heart health!

Risk Reduction of Plaque Fat Rupture

If you have plaque deposits in your arteries, research suggests that EPA and DHA may play a role in stabilizing them so that they are less likely to rupture. Often, it is the by-products of these plaque deposit ruptures, rather than the deposits themselves, which clog your arteries enough to cause strokes and heart attacks. By stabilizing plaque deposits, and by preventing them from rupturing, EPA and DHA may reduce your risk of strokes and heart attacks.

Good Overall Heart Health

Research indicates that EPA and DHA have many heart health benefits including decreasing the risk of heart attacks and other coronary disorders. EPA and DHA may help to reduce the risk of these conditions by affecting your blood flow and your blood chemistry, thereby reducing plaque fat buildups in your arteries. It is never too late to start thinking about your heart’s health, whether your heart is healthy or diseased. Many Nutritionists, Health Professionals, and Health Organizations worldwide, including the American Heart Association, agree that Omega-3s are simply good for your overall heart health.

Now that you have learned about the benefits of Omega-3s, you can start to incorporate them into your diet and you will be well on your way to a healthier heart and a healthier life!

Coach Running Maniacs
Race Director
BA Phys Ed/Master Trainer/Fitness Instructor Specialist

I am the coach of a local running group. A very frequent question is
directed toward nutrition, especially protein consumption. With running,
there is a great demand on the body. Training for half and full marathons
requires the body to recovery quickly to prepare for the next training
session with enthusiasm and drive! Our team has tried protein shakes that
we must “mask” the taste by adding fruit, milk, or frozen yogurt to, in
order to get proper nutrients into our body. Not with OmegaWhey! You simply
can add just water and enjoy a fruity, delicious shake! The taste is
unbelievable, and it almost feels like a treat, rather than your typical
protein shake! Not to mention that the convenience of the package allows you
to drink right away.

We all know the importance of consuming protein within
a half hour of a hard workout! No need to rush home to that blender or scoop
out powder from a big jug to carry along with you! OmegaWhey™ mixes great,
leaving not clumps or chalking residue! On the plus side you are consuming a
high quality drink with Omega 3 and protein isolate! What more could you ask
for?
I recommend OmegaWhey™ to anyone who wants to eat clean, stay strong and
healthy. No matter what your age, no matter what your demands are in life,
OmegaWhey™ is the product for you!

Maureen Gordon — Certified Transitions Lifestyle Coach
Products for Optimal Health
www.cadec.info

I was first exposed to OmegaWhey™ at the Hamilton Health and Wellness Show in October 2006. There was an interesting booth with 4 colorful drinks that attracted me to have a closer look (and sample!). I tried all 4 flavors and liked 3 of them. Some of the literature impressed me enough to take some home with me.

I have a 7 year old daughter who is unfocused both at home and at school. I was also attracted to the fact that omega 3 and EPA are very important for cardiovascular disease and improved memory. Both heart disease and dementia run in my family. I find that my daughter is more focused at school, to the point that her teacher has commented on it. I’m happy that we are getting a source of omega 3 fatty acids because we don’t eat a lot of fish, nor do we take fish oil supplements.

On occasion, I don’t have time to eat lunch and this is the perfect meal replacement, although I don’t believe in meal replacements on a regular basis. It’s easy to mix and compact. I am a Certified Transitions Lifestyle Coach and I teach people how to eat right for the rest of their life, through low glycemic index eating. OmegaWhey™ can be used in any weight loss program as an alternative to skipping meals, while at the same time getting the terrific benefits of omega 3 and EPA fatty acids.

Check out www.healthcorner.ca for more information on time and place.

OmegaWhey™ is a product that combines both long-chained omega-3 fatty acids (DHA & EPA) with the most bio-available source of protein, whey protein isolate.
Years of ongoing research have been revealing more and more of the amazing health benefits from omega-3 fatty acids, from improved cardiovascular health to proper brain development and maintenance of good mental health (which includes, but is not limited to, drastically improving the symptoms of ADHD).
Similarly, an adequate amount of protein is essential in achieving a healthy diet. Proteins are the building blocks for our body; they help us recover after physical activity and have been shown to be a great aid in weight management programs by providing a feeling of satiety (feeling full). Some studies also suggest that women with higher intake of protein have a lower incidence of osteoporosis.
The reasons to make sure you have adequate amounts of these two ingredients abound, but here is the underlying reason for you to pay attention to them: omega-3 DHA and EPA are essential fatty acids, and whey protein isolate contains all 8 essential amino acids. A nutrient deemed essential is one that is necessary for the proper functioning of our body but that cannot be synthesized by the body alone. This means the only way to get these essential nutrients is through your diet.
OmegaWhey™ provides a very generous serving of both the highest quality protein and omega-3 fatty acids and as such can be counted on as great way to supplement your diet.

Over the last few years I have become a health and fitness enthusiast. At age 44, I can honestly say I feel great and love the challenge of exercise.

I have learned over the past year, the numerous benefits of fitness boxing, accompanied by cardio and strength training at a local gym. With this learned knowledge of exercise, comes the knowledge of what actually fuels the body, before, during and after exercise.

I was introduced to OmegaWhey through a friend and have been sold on it ever since. I have tried many other protein drinks, but most are just not convenient to use. If you need a blender to mix them or example, it is just not practical for my schedule. Often the packaging of protein drinks is to large which makes it inconvenient as well.

The Omega Whey product has taken all the inconvenience out of sustaining a healthy protein level.

Being an active woman, I find it difficult to get the necessary grams of protein I require on a daily basis. Not only is it challenging, but also protein food choices come with a high caloric intake. One serving of Omega Whey Fruit Cocktail packs a punch of 22.5 grams of protein and only 117 calories and 2 grams of fat. This ratio is awesome in the world of fitness/calories/healthy choices.

The packaging is well thought out and easily accessed. My busy lifestyle enables my car to double not only as a way of transportation, but also as my office. I can easily open a package and pour it in a water bottle, give it a shake and it is ready to drink, instant gratification for a boost of energy.

Omega Whey’s™ eye-catching packaging and the choice of 3 flavours is a great selling feature.

OmegaWhey™ has also offered its high quality product at a price that is affordable.

I use the product in my work schedule and my play schedule. I can use it while I’m working for a quick fix to accompany a snack, which can then double as a nutritious lunch on the run. I can also use it in my play schedule after a workout at the boxing club to rebuild the muscle after an intense workout.

Protein builds muscle and Omega Whey has packed a lot of protein in an effective drink mix powder. I am personally pleased with the product, the quality, the price and the convenience. OmegaWhey is the WAY.

Yours in health,

Nancy Bricker
